Alex and I headed to Oahu & Kauai for 2 weeks for some surfin' and backpackin', the highlight being the Na Pali Coast. Genious idea

VinceDAmico > Day 3 of the trip, first day on Kauai. Day 1&2 were spent in Waikiki/Oahu surfin' and partying. This is Hanalei Bay. The sleeping Dragon from the song Puff The Magic Dragon is at the right of the photo

VinceDAmico > The start of the famous Kalalau Trail. A tough 11 miles out/ 11 miles back along the Na Pali coast.

VinceDAmico > Half a mile in you get a great view of the starting beach, Ke'e Beach

VinceDAmico > The first view down the coast which is a very famous shot for many movies (especially South Pacific). Around that last corner is the finish line, Kalalau Beach

VinceDAmico > Alex hikin' at about milepost 1.0. The girl in the background is part of an Aspen area couple (Josh and Claire) that we met right from the start. She actually knew a great college friend of mine very well....small world. We hung out with them later in the trip

VinceDAmico > Arriving at mile 2 and what we decided was a perfect spot to camp...lazy first day. It's always nice when they tell you how many people have died trying to swim at Hanakapi'ai Beach. We swam and body surfed despite the scary sign but you definitely had to be on guard. The under currents could sweep you away easily
